Women's Tennis Coach Relieved of Her Duties
October 21, 2009 | Women's Tennis
Kathy Bull, who has served as Ball State University's women's tennis coach since 1988, has been relieved of her duties, according to Ball State director of intercollegiate athletics Tom Collins.
"We want to alert you that Ball State issued a self report of violations in the women's program to the NCAA on Monday," Collins says. "Consistent with standard policies and procedures when investigating matters involving serious allegations, the investigation was coordinated with the NCAA enforcement staff. The university is taking corrective actions immediately and decisively in response to the infractions. We take adherence to NCAA regulations seriously, as demonstrated by our prompt attention when the concerns in the program were raised.
"Effective today (Tues., Oct. 20), I have relieved head coach Kathy Bull of her coaching duties. Until I am able to appoint a head coach, graduate assistant coach Amanda Pratzel, along with associate athletics director Karin Lee, will supervise the team."
