Men's Golf's Brian Maurer Earns Weekly MAC Honor

Brian Maurer (Richmond, Ind./Richmond H.S.), a senior member of the Ball State University men's golf team, was named one of three Mid-American Conference Golfers of the Week.
Maurer tied for second at Ball State's own Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Delaware Country Club. He shot a 69-66-74=209 to help the Cardinals to a tie for second in the 15-team field. Maurer tied for second with John Powers of Bowling Green and Matt Schneider of Bowling Green, and shared the MAC weekly award with both of those student-athletes. Eastern Kentucky won the event and Ball State's second-place finish was better than MAC opponents Northern Illinois (4th), Bowling Green (5th tie) and Ohio (8th). The Cardinals return to action Oct. 13-14 at the Xavier Invitational at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
