
Field Hockey Falls To 18th Ranked Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Ball State field hockey team suffered its sixth loss of the season to 18th ranked Ohio State in a 5-0 final.
Goalkeeper Lindsay Quintiliani recorded her fourth shutout of the season to advance Ohio State's record to 6-2.
Junior goalkeeper Tiffany Shifflett (Yorktown, Va./Hampton Roads Academy) managed to tally seven saves in the 70 minutes for Ball State.
“We played well in the first 15-20 minutes, but were unable to jump on the 50-50 balls,” head coach Annette Payne said.
Freshman forward Brittany Hammer (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) is credited with the single shot on goal for Ball State as Ohio State led 13-1 in shots on goal.
Linda Haussener would provide more than half of those shots and record two goals for the Buckeyes' offense.
Senior defender Jodi Mann (Clifton, Va./Centreville) also added a defensive save on the game.
Ball State (1-6) returns home this weekend as they face interstate rival Indiana (3-3) Saturday at 2 p.m.
