Three Women's Golfers Named All-America Scholars

Three members of the Ball State University women's golf team -- Kirsty O'Connor (Burnley, Lancashire, U.K./Habergham), Rachael Pruett (Linton, Ind./Stockton H.S.) and Sarah Windlan (Anderson, Ind./Highland H.S.) -- were each named to the National Golf Coaches Association 2007-08 All-America Scholar Team.
In order to be eligible for the NGCA All-America Scholar Team, a women's golf student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.50 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and compete in at least 50 percent of the school's competitive rounds.
O'Connor, who owns a 3.84 cumulative GPA as a German major, led Ball State with a 77.33 average in 27 competitive rounds last season. She ranked ninth in the Mid-American Conference in average, and managed five top-5 finishes and seven top-25 placings in 2007-08. O'Connor won the Butler Spring Invitational and finished in a tie for second at the MAC Tournament Preview.
Pruett owns a 3.94 cumulative grade-point average as a Chemistry major, and tallied a perfect 4.0 last spring. She managed an 81.10 average while playing in 20 competitive rounds for the Cardinals. Pruett posted four top-25 finishes last season, including a career-best third-place showing at the Cardinal Classic in Muncie.
Windlan, who owns a 3.82 GPA as a marketing and communication studies major, managed an 80.45 average in 22 competitive rounds for Ball State last season. She tallied three top-25 finishes, including a season-best 11th-place showing at the Butler Spring Invitational. Windlan managed a season-low round of 75 at the Rio Verde Intercollegiate in Arizona plus tied for third at the Tri-State Thunder Invitational while playing as an individual.
