Men's Golfers Finish Near Top at PGA Indiana Open

Ball State's Brian Maurer (Richmond, Ind./Richmond H.S.), who will be a senior member of head coach Mike Fleck's golf team this fall, tied for ninth at the PGA Indiana Open at Prairie View Golf Club in Indianapolis, while Ross Cosat (Carthage, Ind./Knightstown H.S.) tied for 13th in the 72 hole event.
Maurer managed a 71-73-72-71=287 for the tournament, while Cosat tallied a 71-72-74-74=291.
Brett Melton won the event in a playoff with a 66-70-71-73=280.
Former Ball State standout Jamie Broce managed a 68 Thursday and tied for third with a four-round total 281.
