Softball Loses To Central Michigan 3-1

MUNCIE, Ind. ? The Ball State softball team lost to Central Michigan 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Chippewas scored all four of their runs in the fourth inning. Christina Novak got the inning started with a stand-up double. She scored the first run of the game off a bunt from Katie Greenman.

Jill Schulz hit an RBI double down the leftfield line to put CMU on top 2-0. The final run scored off an RBI single from Kim Cozat.

Senior Abby Gross hit an RBI single through the right side of the infield in the fifth inning. Lisa Rozanski scored her 39th run of the season. She is now three shy of the single-season school record. Gross leads the team with 44 RBI.

Rozanski made Ball State history in the third inning. She set the school record for steals in a single-season with 38. Heather Hinkle previously held the record with 37.

The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season with games against Western Michigan and Northern Illinois this weekend. BSU will play the Broncos on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
