
Softball Earns 3-1 Victory At Miami

The Cardinals are now 27-21 overall with a 5-5 mark in Mid-American Conference play.
Tiffany Garofano was impressive on the mound holding the Redhawk offense to three hits. Garofano threw a complete game and recorded eight strikeouts to pick up her ninth win of the season.
Garofano recorded two of the first three outs in the first inning with two strikeouts. She walked three consecutive batters, but came back to strike out Christine Bills with the bases loaded to end the inning.
Garofano remained hot in the second inning by striking out the side.
All four runs in the game were scored in the third inning.
Allie Pennock led off the top of the inning with a walk. Lisa Rozanski reached first off a fielder's choice, but Pennock was thrown out at second.
Rozanski stole second base and advanced to third off an infield hit from Alyssa Collins. Collins stole second base, and Alicia Barkley walked to load the bases for BSU.
Meredith Linch gave BSU the lead when she walked Gross to put the Cardinals on top 1-0. Amanda Pick increased the lead with single to centerfield. Collins scored easily, and Barkley beat the throw from Breanna Robinson to score the third run of the game.
Robinson hit an RBI double to left field to put the Redhawks on the scoreboard, but it wouldn't be enough as Garofano shut down
Rozanski and Pennock each had two hits for BSU.
