
Softball Shuts Out IUPUI; Sweeps Doubleheader

Senior Abby Gross went 2-2 with three RBI to lead the Cardinal offense in game one.
Alyssa Collins reached first base off a walk to start the game. Collins went on to steal second base with Alicia Barkley at the plate.
Barkley singled to right field and advanced to second as the throw went home. Collins beat the throw and put the Cardinals on top 1-0.
Gross picked up two RBI with a base hit up the middle. Amanda Pick followed in the order with an RBI single to the left side of the infield.
The Cardinals added one more run in the top of the fourth inning. Collins singled, and stole second base to lead off the inning. A sacrifice bunt by Barkley moved Collins to third.
Gross hit a double down the left field line to earn her third RBI of the game. Collins is second on the team with 22 runs scored this season.
Pick ended game one 3-4 with an RBI. Wilczynski finished 2-3 with a walk, while Collins scored three runs after going 1-2 with two walks.
Elizabeth Milian picked up her 13th win of the year. Milian shut out the Jaguars limiting them to four hits, while also striking out four batters.
Allie Pennock recorded the first hit of the game for BSU in game two. Pennock stole second base and advanced to third off a base hit from Rozanski.
Coach Nicholson called a double steal that sent Rozanski to second, and allowed Pennock to score on the throw.
Rozanski stole her 23rd base of the season by swiping third with Collins at the plate. Collins hit a hard ground ball to the second baseman. Collins was out on the play, but she picked up an RBI as Rozanski scored.
Laura Masch started the game on the mound for BSU. Masch threw three complete innings and held the Jaguars to one hit before being replaced by Tiffany Garofano.
Pennock picked up her second hit of the game in the fifth inning. A double from Collins allowed Pennock to score pushing the BSU lead to 3-0.
Collins advanced to third off a hit from Barkley. Gross picked up two more RBI with a double to the fence in left field. Gross leads the team with 36 RBI.
