Women's Tennis Claims 4-3 Victory At Akron

AKRON, Ohio - The Ball State University women's tennis team (8-6, 1-2 MAC) split its two-match Mid-American Conference weekend with a 4-3 win at Akron Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals fell behind early to the Zips after losing the doubles point. The closest match was at No. 1 after twosome Haly Calderwood and Jennifer Pollack lost to Akron's Tanyaradzwa Gombera and Lindsey Berry, 8-6.
A come from behind win for Ball State as they took down the Akron Zips in singles action beginning with a win at No. 3 after Pollack defeated Berry, 6-0, 6-2. Emma Retter would then claim a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jeremie Benjamin. Hayley Hall won at No. 5 after posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alyssa Carlson. Georgina Thomson sealed the win for the Cardinals after winning the deciding match 6-1, 7-6 (4) over Kerry Langworthy.
Ball State women's tennis continues its four-match league road swing when it travels to Eastern Michigan Friday, April 4. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
