O'Connor Named MAC Golfer of the Week

Kirsty O'Connor (Burnley, Lancashire, U.K./Habergham), a sophomore member of the Ball State University women's golf team, was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after winning medalist honors at the Butler Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
O'Connor managed a 78-76 at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind., to win the event by four strokes. Teammate Brittany Kelly tied for second in the event.
This marked the first time in O'Connor's career she has received the league's weekly award. She tied for medalist honors at the Butler Spring Invitational a year ago with teammate Sarah Windlan.
The Cardinals won the tournament for a second straight season after registering a team score of 639 in the 36-hole event.
