Huang Named Academic All-MAC

MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior Michelle Huang (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Central) of the Ball State Univeristy women's swim team has been named Academic All-Mid-American Conference for the second time in her career.
"We are extremely proud of Michelle's accomplishment, especially after receiving this award for two years in a row," said co-head coach Laura Seibold-Caudill. "Michelle's hard work in the pool and in the classroom has been an outstanding contribution to the Cardinals."
In the last home meet of the season, Huang took second in the 50 free with a 25.05 final in a win over Miami. Huang captured a first place honor in the 100 free after clocking in a 53.45 that event. She earned second in the 200 free with a 1:57.42 final. Huang posted a season-best time of 59.30 in the 50 free versus Ohio (2/2). She swam a 1:56.65 in the 200 free versus Eastern Michigan (1/26) and posted a season-best 1:01.53 in the 100 back versus Akron (11/9). Huang managed a time of 2:13.06 in the 200 back at Buffalo (11/10).
The Ball State University swimming and diving team ended its season at the MAC Championships held at Buffalo, Feb. 23.
