
Men's Basketball Loses At MAC's To EMU, 59-55

CLEVELAND, Ohio ? The Ball State University men's basketball team(6-24, 5-11 MAC) ended its season by falling 59-55 to Eastern Michigan (14-16, 8-8 MAC) in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.

After a tie 43-43 with 7:27 remaining in the game, the Eagles took control rattling off seven straight points. BSU would come no closer than four the remainder of the game. EMU led by as many as seven with 21 seconds left. In a last attempt to win the game, Goins hit a three but that wasn't enough as the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals with a 59-55 victory over the Cardinals.
“I am going to miss these guys,” said senior Peyton Stovall.
The Cardinals had three players score in double figures. Newell ended the game with 17. Stovall ended his career with 13 points and teammate Goins had 11. Malik Perry and Newell each had five boards for BSU.
