
Field Hockey Suffers Loss To Kent State 5-0 Sunday

MUNCIE, Ind. ? The Ball State field hockey team suffered its third conference loss this season to Kent State Sunday 5-0.
Ball State trailed by two at the half after goals from Kent State's Debbie Bell and Rachel Miller.
Kent State's transition provided a flurry of goals in the second half, led by Bell who accumulated her second hat trick this season.
Despite an even number of penalty corner opportunities, Kent State managed 20 shots in the contest to Ball State's four. The Golden Flashes would capitalize on two of the six penalty corners.
Jodi Mann provided two shots on goal for the Cardinals, only to be saved by the Kent State's goalkeeper Caroline Suitch who logged three saves during the 70 minutes.
Ball State goalkeeper Tiffany Shifflett stopped six shots in the cage.
The Cardinals (1-10 overall, 0-3 MAC) will continue MAC play as they host the Chippewas of Central Michigan (1-7 overall, 0-2 MAC) 1 p.m Saturday, October 11 and the Miami Redhawks (8-3 overall, 3-1 MAC) 1 p.m. Sunday, October 12.
