
Track & Field Second At Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Ball State women's track and field team took second place in the Bowling Green Invitational held at the Perry Field House.
The Cardinals finished the meet with 130 points. The University of Cincinnati took first place with 141 points, while fellow Mid-American Conference foes Bowling Green (116pts) and Eastern Michigan (79pts) took third and fourth place.
Ali Bishel finished first in the mile for Ball State with a time of 4:48.57. Bishel also competed in the 800-meter run where she placed second finishing in 2:17.63.
The distance crew looked strong as Brittany Ade took first place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:19.85. Laura Bandy finished third in the 5000-meter run (18:12.06), as Vanessa Gilbert placed fourth finishing in 18:15.67.
The Cardinals had multiple runners score in the 60-meter hurdles. Katie Johnson finished third with a time of 8.83. Thekla Lorenz, Ra'Jae Marable and Lanae Stovall and scored by placing fourth, fifth and sixth.
Off the track, senior Terri Abraham finished first in the long jump with a distance of 19-0 ?. Amanda Barnhart finished third with a jump of 17-11 ?, while Lindsay Bangert took fourth place (17-8). Bangert also finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 33-11 ?.
Cara Collins finished second in the shot put with a distance of 43-4 ?, and also took third place in the weight throw with a distance of 55-5.
Next on the schedule for the Cardinals will be the Gladstein Invitational held in Bloomington, Ind. on Saturday, Jan. 26
