
Gymnastics Drops Season Opener At Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State University gymnastics team (0-1, 0-1 MAC) dropped its season opener at Western Michigan (1-0, 1-0 MAC) Sunday afternoon at University Arena 189.825 to 185.450.
As a team the Cardinals tied with the Broncos on vault with a 46.825. Senior Erika Gilkerson posted the best score on the event for BSU with a 9.625 finish.
Senior Kristin Sprague led Ball State on bars with a 9.575. Classmates Laura Shockey was the top finisher on beam (9.500) and Brittney Bauer led the way on floor (9.600).
The Cardinals host Illinois State for its home opener on Friday, Jan. 18 at Irving Gym. The meet will begin at 6 p.m.
