April 17, 2007 | Women's Golf
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Senior Kallie Harrison fired a final-round 78 to finish tied for eighth as the Ball State women's golf team tied for fifth overall at the Bowling Green Invitational.
In addition, freshman Kirsty O'Connor posted one of Tuesday's lower rounds with a 75.
O'Connor tied for 24th overall with rounds of 93-91-75. Sophomore Sarah Windlan tied for 21st with scores of 86-87-85.
The 11-team event was played at Stone Ridge Golf Club near the BGSU campus. Toledo captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 1000, while Marshall was second at 1011.
The Cardinals managed rounds of 349, 355 and 317 for a 1021 total to tie for fifth overall.
"Kirsty and Kallie had great rounds today," says BSU head coach Katherine Mowat. "Yesterday, the conditions were as hard as I have ever seen in my 10 years of college golf. The course played extremely long on a good day and then with 40 to 50 mile-per-hour winds, the conditions were absolutely brutal. We battled through yesterday and then put a good round up today."
The Cardinals complete the spring portion of their schedule April 27 with the Mid-American Conference Championship at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio
