FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Ball State junior Amber Williams placed 15th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend in the 60-meter hurdles event.
Williams clocked in at 8.45 during the first heat, the time was not fast enough to advance to the final race. Shantia Moss of Georgia Tech won the race in a time of 7.98.
Williams was awarded the 2007 Most Valuable Performer during the Indoor Mid-American Conference Championships. In that meet she broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles and set the MAC meet record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.19.
On February 20th Williams was named the MAC Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Ball State Quadrangular. In that meet Williams tied her own school record with a time of 8.26
Coming into the season Williams owned the school record in the 60-meter hurdles. Last year her time of 8.26 was good enough for the record, but she just missed the qualifying time and did not get the chance to compete in the NCAA Championships.
