Calderwood Named MAC Tennis Player Of The Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior Haly Calderwood (Newington, Australia/Danebank) of the Ball State University women's tennis team has been named to Mid-American Conference Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the MAC office late Saturday (March 3). This is the first time in Calderwood's career she has garnered such honors.
Calderwood helped the Cardinals to back-to-back 6-1 road victories over Butler (Feb. 23) and Valparaiso (Feb. 26). Calderwood won at No. 1 doubles alongside teammate Jennifer Pollack at Butler by a score of 8-1. She continued her success at No. 2 singles by posting a 6-4, 6-1 win over the Bulldogs Tiffany McLoughlin. Calderwood defeated Valpo's Kate Evangelist 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot, Feb. 26 to end the week.
Ball State hits the road for its spring trip (March 12-17) with its first match to be played against South Carolina State (March 12) at 1 pm. The Cardinals are 4-4 on the season.
