2007 Football Schedule Announced
March 14, 2007 | Football
Ball State's football team will open the 2007 season Thurs., Aug., 30, at home against the Miami University RedHawks in the newly renovated Scheumann Stadium.
Also highlighting the 2007 schedule will be the welcoming of a national television audience to Scheumann Stadium. After playing two games on national television in 2006 -- at Michigan and at Toledo -- Ball State will host the Toledo Rockets in a Tues., Nov. 13, game scheduled to air on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m. Other game times will be announced at a later date.
"We are excited to open the season in Scheumann Stadium," Ball State athletics director Tom Collins says. "In addition, to be able to bring a national audience to our campus is a benefit for our student-athletes, staff and the university as a whole. The Mid-American Conference has averaged 21 national television appearances per year since 2003, and the exposure that brings to a football program and university is tremendous. We are looking forward to the 2007 season and hope all our fans will come out and support head coach Brady Hoke and his staff as we strive toward a MAC Championship."
The Cardinals' non-conference slate includes games at Navy, at Nebraska, at Illinois and at Indiana, plus a Homecoming Weekend contest Sat., Oct. 13 vs. Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky is a transitional NCAA Division IA member and will be eligible to compete for the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 2009.
