Richter Represents America At Maccabi Pan American Games

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State soccer assistant coach Abby Richter will take part in the Maccabi Pan American Games this week as she has been named an assistant coach for the United States team in the upcoming games.

“I am very excited about representing the United States on an international level,” Richter said. “We will be playing against a very high level of competition. We look forward to the challenge that lies ahead of us and we hope to bring a medal back to the USA.”

Richter has been an assistant coach for Cardinals' and head coach Michelle Salmon for the past two seasons. She has been instrumental in guiding the Cardinals to back-to-back Mid-American Conference regular season championships. She will serve as an assistant at the Maccabi Pan American Games for American head coach Jason Neidell. Neidell is the head coach at Western Kentucky University.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Abby to represent her country at the Maccabi Pan American Games,” Salmon said. “For the last two years, she has done an outstanding job for our championship program and out success is a testament to the type of coach she is each and every day.”

The 11^th annual Maccabi Pan-American Games are being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. Over 4,000 athletics and visitors from 20 countries will be participating in the events with the USA alone bringing approximately 500 Jewish athletes.

Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel has been around for over 50 years. Its goal year in and year out is to enrich the lives of Jews in the United States, Israel, and throughout the Diaspora. This is accomplished through many different athletic, cultural, and educational programs.
