
McLemore Scores 17; Cardinals Fall To Redbirds

The Cardinals shot 39 percent to the Redbirds 48 percent in the game and never recovered from the first-half deficit.
“I couldn't be more proud of these kids,” first-year Ball State head coach Billy Taylor said. “Every time we go out, our kids fight extremely hard. They're going to continue to battle and keep fighting. You never know what could happen.”
Leading the way for the Cardinals was redshirt freshman Rashaun McLemore with a career-high 17 points in 28 minutes.
McLemore was 7-for-11 from the field and 2-for-4 from the charity stripe.

Newell, who has been sidelined with an injury since November 20, looks to return to the Cardinals' lineup soon.
“Anthony's not practicing yet,' Taylor added. "We'll see how he does once he gets in to practice. We want to make sure he's ready and gets his conditioning and timing and everything back, but he's a key piece to this team.”
The Cardinals have nine consecutive days off during the holiday season and will return to Worthen Arena on Dec. 31 to play the Mastodons from IPFW at 2 pm.
