Men's Golf Adds Two Recruits
November 29, 2007 | Men's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Zac Henderson (Goshen, Ind./Northridge H.S.) and Zac Treash (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield H.S.) have each signed a national letter of intent to attend Ball State University and compete for the men's golf team, according to Ball State head coach Mike Fleck.
“I am very excited to welcome these two into the Ball State golf family,” Fleck said. “It has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority to attract talent from the state of Indiana to our program. Both Zac Henderson and Zac Treash continue that tradition.”
Henderson, who won medalist honors at the Age 15-18 Group Championship played at Indiana National Golf Club in July with rounds of 68 and 73, recorded seven top 10 finishes in tournament play last summer. He posted scores of 73-71 to finish second at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship in June.
“Zac Henderson knows how to compete and win,” Fleck said. “He has won tournaments at the junior level and is a powerful player. Zach has an experienced resume with top-level competition.”
Treash, a 2007 Indiana High School Athletic Association State Finalist, is a two-time all-conference selection at Plainfield. He qualified for the Optimist International Tournament of Champions with a first-place finish and score of 68 in the local competition.
In addition to placing 26th overall at the national event, Treash placed 16th at a PGA Junior Series event at Stone Creek Golf Club in July.
“Zac Treash is very athletic and also has experience at the national level,” Fleck said. “He is a consistent player who rarely plays himself out of rounds.”
