Del Rio and Franklin Named MAC Swimmers of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Seniors Addison Del Rio (Munster, Ind./Munster) and Ryan Franklin (Crown Point, Ind./Lake Central) of the Ball State University men's and women's swimming & diving team have been named Mid-American Conference Swimmers of the Week.
Del Rio swam in the 200 free relay that took top honors with a time of 1:39.31. She was also on the 400 medley relay that took first place with a 3:57.72 final. Del Rio won the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.91. Del Rio helped the team win the 800 free relay (7:52.37) and the 400 free relay (3:36.95).
Franklin helped the Cardinals claim the Doug Coers Invitational after helping BSU win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.05 and taking first in the 100 breast after clocking in a time of 1:01.08. Franklin was also second in the 200 breast after turning in a time of 2:13.88.
Both swimmers helped the team claim the Doug Coers Invitational last Saturday.
The Ball State University swimming and diving team will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 30 at the House of Champions held by IUPUI. The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m.
