Swimming & Diving Takes The Lead After Day One of Doug Coers Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University men's and women's swimming and diving team completed its first session of the Doug Coers Invitational Friday night at Lewellen Aquatic Center. The men lead by a score of 243 while the women are currently in first with 289 points.
The women started the night strong winning the first event in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Katie Bylsma, Addison Del Rio, Lauren Harger and Michelle Huang clocked in a top time of 1:39.31 for the win.
Mary Ehresman placed first in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.56.
Jacob Morris turned in a time of 21.83 in the 50 free to win that event.
In diving Lisa Maertin won the 1-meter with a 249.40 final and David Linn won for the men in the 3-meter after scoring a 278.05.
The Ball State women closed the night winning the 400 medley relay. The foursome of Erika Paul, Emily Hurst, Maria Gramelspacher and Del Rio swam a 3:59.72 final.
The Doug Coers invitational will conclude Saturday, Nov. 17 with the second session beginning at 9 a.m.
