Eric Steger's 68 & 67 Leads Cardinals At IPFW
October 08, 2007 | Men's Golf
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Freshman Eric Steger fired consecutive sub-70 rounds Monday, then posted an even-par round of 72 Tuesday as four members of the 2007-08 Ball State men's golf team competed as the Cardinals' "B" team at the IPFW Fall Classic.
"Eric played very solid," says BSU head coach Mike Fleck. "The tournament served its purpose of getting some of our younger players some competitive experience."
Steger's rounds of 68, 67 and 72 tied for fourth, marking the only Cardinal in the top 30 at the event.
Freshman Eric Skillman tied for 26th overall, while Ben Lakoff and Anthony Novak tied for 36th and 38th, respectively.
The Cardinals return to action Oct. 15-16 at the Belmont Invitational played in "Music City USA" -- Nashville, Tenn.
