Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Play at Memphis Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Ball State University women's tennis team ended its fall season in Memphis on Saturday.
In Division I singles Sophie Quist dropped her match in the semifinals to Michaela Cruise of Southern Illinois, 6-4, 7-6 (5).
In Division II singles bracket Hayley Hall was crowned champion after defeating Jessica Flannery of Southern Illinois, 6-0, 6-0 and Marta Gomez-Jordana, 6-2, 6-1.
Jennifer Pollack posted a semifinal win in the Division III bracket after defeating Dara Toulch of Memphis, 7-6 (4), 6-3. The Memphis native then won the championship match over Ashley Pierson of Murray State, 6-1, 4-6, 10-4.
Emma Retter closed out singles play for the Cardinals in the Division IV flight with a win over Lindsey Wiseman of Memphis, 6-3, 6-2. Retter would then drop the championship match to Nathalia Garay of Arkansas Little-Rock, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.
In doubles action Haley Calderwood and Pollack defeated the Southern Illinois twosome of Flannery/Tsala, 9-8 (4) in consolation play.
Ball State will be back in action at the Indiana University Doubles Tournament, Saturday, Jan. 12.
