Jessica Thompson Named to Women's Tennis Academic All-MAC Squad

Jessica Thompson (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.), a junior on the Ball State women's tennis squad, has been named to the 2006 Women's Tennis Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office. Thompson joins nine other MAC women's tennis players for the honor.
Thompson, a 2006 First Team All-MAC honoree, owns the team's fourth-highest grade-point average of 3.658 as a psychology major. During the season, she was Ball State's No. 1 singles player and played in the No. 1 doubles position in every match she competed in.
Thompson tallied a 13-8 spring singles record and a 11-10 spring doubles record, while managing a 6-2 singles mark and a 5-3 doubles ledger in league play. Additionally, Thompson advanced to the finals of Flight A singles at the Ball State Fall Invitational.
Thompson and the BSU squad finished the 2006 season with a 9-12 overall record, while going 3-5 versus league opponents.
