Patrick Wilkes-Krier Named MAC Golfer of the Week
April 18, 2006 | Men's Golf
Wilkes-Krier, who fired a three-under par round of 69 in round two of the prestigious Robert Kepler Invitational, was also the Cardinals' low man in the final 18 holes with a round of 74. He posted a three-round total of 221 (78-69-74) to finish in eighth place.
"I am very proud of Patrick for his effort not only last week at Muirfield, but also throughout the season," said BSU head coach Mike Fleck. "His second-round 69 was impressive, but so was his 74 on Sunday with pin placements the same as the PGA Tour event. The weekly honor by the MAC office is well deserved."
Wilkes-Krier and the Cardinals return to action at the Michigan State/Fossum Invitational this week, before playing at Firestone Golf Club for the First Energy Intercollegiate April 29-30.
The 2006 MAC Championship, hosted by Ball State University, is slated for May 4-6 at Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis.
