Women's Tennis Falls to Miami 6-1

The visiting Redhawks gained a point early as they made a full sweep of doubles competition. Jessica Thompson and Haly Calderwood were defeated 8-4 in the No. 1 slot by Katrina Lomidze and Linda Jirouskova. At the No. 2 position, Remy Swain and Maura Trauernicht topped Katie Owens and Jennifer Pollack 8-2. Vicky Pulido and Leda Pesatova rounded out the sweep with an 8-6 win over Emma Retter and Rachel Lemar at the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Jessica Thompson earned the only point for the Cardinals, defeating Katrina Lomidze in the No. 1 slot.
The Ball State women's tennis team will continue conference competition next Friday in Akron, Ohio against the Zips at 1 p.m.
