Women's Tennis Just Misses at Arkansas State

The No. 2 doubles tandem of Stephanie Farrar and Katie Owens recorded BSU's lone doubles win of the afternoon with an 8-3 victory over ASU's Renee Branker and Melissa Silva.
In singles play, Farrar and Owens continued the success, picking up their respective matches at the No. 2 and No. 5 positions. Farrar defeated Arkansas State's Paula Chelminska 6-4, 6-0, while Owens downed Karen Saravia 6-2, 6-4. Also chipping in for the Cardinals was Jennifer Pollack, who took down her opponent -- Maria Oprea -- 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot.
The Cardinals (6-6) take a few weeks off before beginning Mid-American Conference play March 24 at Toledo.
