Holst Earns Soccer Buzz All-Region Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State senior midfielder Amy Holst (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Shawnee Mission East H.S.) received another honor for her trophy case on Tuesday afternoon as she earned Third Team All-Great Lakes Region honors by Soccer Buzz Magazine. Holst is the only player from the Mid-American Conference to earn a spot on the three All-Region teams.
“This is another great honor for Amy and it caps off her stellar career at BSU,” head coach Michelle Salmon said. “It is great to be recognized by other schools as one of the top midfielders in the region and she is very deserving of this prestigious honor.”
Holst, a First-Team All-Mid-American Conference selection, led the Cardinals to their first ever MAC regular season title and a 13-4-3 overall record. She was tied for the team lead in scoring with nine goals as a central midfielder. She finished the season seventh in the MAC in scoring with 18 total points.
She became just the third Cardinal all-time to record a hat trick as she accomplished the feat with three first half goals against MAC foe
Holst becomes only the third player in BSU soccer history to earn Great Lakes All-Region honors as she joins former standouts Alison Becker (2005) and Dee Nocero (2002, 2003, 2004) with the accolades.
