Travis Smith Fires Final-Round 69 At Xavier

Freshman Travis Smith fired a final-round 69 to finish the 54-hole event at seven-under par. Smith tied for ninth overall.
Wayne Denger tied for 49th (73-75-71), Austin Steele tied for 62nd (77-73-72), C.D. Hockersmith (75-73-78) and Andy Skillman (73-80-73) tied for 75th. Brian Maurer, playing as an individual, tied for 80th.
The 18-team field, which includes defending team champion Austin Peay, defending medalist John Streibich of Xavier and seven teams which advanced to the NCAA Regional last season, was played at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
Xavier rallied to win the event with a final-round 270 to claim a 10-stroke victory over Austin Peay.
