Maxwell, Holst and Wiltshire Named NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-Central Region Honorable Mention

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Juniors Sarah Maxwell (Kalamazoo, Mich./Mattawan H.S.) and Amy Holst (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Shawnee Mission East H.S.) plus senior Lindsay Wiltshire (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead H.S.) have all been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Scholar All-Central Region Honorable Mention Team.
Maxwell, a family and consumer science major with a 3.529 grade point average, played and started in all 20 games for the Cardinals this season. She helped the BSU defense rank first in the conference in goals allowed, by only giving up 12 for a 0.60 average. Her defensive play also helped the Cardinals post 10 shutouts in 2005, which ties for a conference high. Maxwell registered an assist in BSU's 5-1 win over Loyola University Chicago and tallied three shots, one assist and one point from the defender position.
Holst, a microbiology major with a 3.907 grade point average, owns the team's second-highest G.P.A. She played and started in 18 games during the 2005 season and accumulated four goals, three assists, 11 points and 27 shots. The four goals and three assists tied for third on the squad, while the 11 points and 27 shots ranked fourth. She scored two game-winning goals for the Cardinals during the campaign -- against Youngstown State Sept. 4 and versus Bowling Green Sept. 30.
Wiltshire owns the squad's third-highest GPA with a 3.858 as a pre-medicine major. She played and started all 20 matches this season and ranked second on the team with four assists. Wiltshire accumulated 21 shots, three goals, four assists and 10 points in 2005.
The 2005 Cardinals concluded one of the most successful seasons in program history, posting a 15-3-2 overall record and a second-place mark in the MAC. The squad's second-place finish was matched by the 2002 team and ties as the best in school history.
