Women's Tennis Falls to Big 12's Jayhawks
January 22, 2006 | Women's Tennis
BSU posted its only win of the day at No. 2 doubles, where Stephanie Farrar and Katie Owens teamed up for an 8-4 verdict over KU's Edina Horvath and Lauren Hommell. The Jayhawks posted 8-2 and 8-3 wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 slots, respectively, to score the point. KU posted two-set verdicts at all six singles positions.
"We came out fast and played well in doubles to start before fading in the end," BSU head coach Kathy Bull said. "We were just flat overpowered in singles. We made a lot of unforced errors and emotionally did not hold up well. Kansas is a very talented team, including top 100 players."
