July 11, 2005 | Men's Golf
Three members of the Ball State University men's golf team have been named Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Senior Bud Graessle (Seymour, Ind./Seymour H.S.) and juniors Brandon Boomsma (Munster, Ind./Illiana, Ill. H.S.) and Patrick Wilkes-Krier (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron H.S.) each received the 2005 honor. Ball State and Georgia Tech were the only schools in the nation to have three members of its team honored with the award.
"I am very proud of these three individuals," said BSU head coach Mike Fleck. "To have three members of our team receive national recognition as Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars is a tremendous honor. Bud, Brandon and Patrick not only achieved at a high level on the golf course, but also at a high level in the classroom. I am especially happy for Bud, who as a senior, finished his career with this award. I also expect Brandon and Patrick to continue their success as they begin their senior seasons this fall."
