Becker Named to NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-Central Region Third Team & Third Team All-Great Lakes Region

Alison Becker (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendord H.S.), a junior goalkeeper on the Ball State women's soccer team, has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Scholar All-Central Region Third Team and Third Team All-Great Lakes Region. It is the first time she has earned the two awards.
Ball State's starting goalkeeper, Becker played 1,814 minutes in goal with 70 saves, a 0.55 goals against average and an .864 save percentage. She allowed only 11 goals and posted nine shutouts on the season. Becker led the league in goals against average, save percentage, shutouts and shutouts per game.
For her stellar 2005 season, Becker earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team honors and Academic All-MAC accolades.
Additionally, Becker helped the 2005 squad earn a NSCAA Team Academic award. Among Division I schools, Ball State tied for fourth with a 3.59 overall team grade-point average for the 2004-05 academic year.
The 2005 Cardinals concluded one of the most successful seasons in program history, posting a 15-3-2 overall record and a second-place mark in the MAC. The squad's second-place finish was matched by the 2002 team and ties as the best in school history.
