Holst, the only Mid-American Conference player selected to the District V squad, will appear on the national ballot for the Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team with the winner being announced Nov. 22.
Holst owns the team's second-highest grade-point average of 3.907 as a microbiology major. She played and started in 18 games during the 2005 season and accumulated four goals, three assists, 11 points and 27 shots. The four goals and three assists tied for third on the squad, while the 11 points and 27 shots ranked fourth.
Holst scored two game-winning goals for the Cardinals during the campaign -- against Youngstown State Sept. 4 and versus Bowling Green Sept. 30.
The Ball State soccer team recently concluded one of the most successful seasons in program history, posting a 15-3-2 overall record and a second-place mark in the MAC. The 2005 squad's second-place finish was matched by the 2002 team and ties for the best in school history.
