MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State senior Chantelle Isaac (Clayton, Calif./Concord) and junior Lindsay Quay (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) have been selected to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA All-West Region Second Team, as announced today (Nov. 14) by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
A forward, Isaac started all 18 games for the Cardinals and totaled 22 points on 10 goals and two assists this season. She scored a team-high two game-winning goals, which came Sept. 10 in a 2-1 win over Providence and Oct. 7 during a 1-0 overtime victory against Miami. Three times this year Isaac added two goals in a game, while on four other occasions she notched one goal. Her assists came Oct. 15 at Kent State and Nov. 3 against Miami.
The Sept. 19 MAC Offensive Player of the Week, Isaac was recently selected to the 2005 All-Mid-American Conference First Team after earning All-MAC First Team accolades last season plus All-MAC Second Team honors as a sophomore. An integral part of the Ball State offense throughout her career, Isaac started 56 of her 62 career games played and finished with 24 goals and 11 assists for 59 total points.
Quay, a forward, started all 18 games for BSU and led the team with 23 points on 10 goals and three assists. She notched her first career hat trick -- including the game-winner -- plus added an assist Oct. 22 in a 6-0 shutout of eventual MAC Tournament champion Central Michigan. Quay also added one goal in seven separate games while adding helpers Sept. 16 at Northwestern and Oct. 30 at Missouri State.
An All-MAC First Team selection for the second-consecutive year in 2005, Quay was named the conference's Freshman of the Year following the conclusion of the 2003 season and was listed on the womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie Squad. Named to the 2004 MAC Academic Honor Roll, Quay has accumulated 23 goals and 10 assists for 56 points in 56 career games, all of which she has started.
Ball State wrapped up its 2005 season in the MAC quarterfinals Nov. 3, with a 3-2 loss to Miami in a second round of penalty strokes to finish 4-14 overall with a 3-7 MAC ledger.
