Freshman Matt Schumaker fired three consecutive rounds of 71 for a 213 total and tie for fifth place overall. Schumaker was the Cardinals' top performer at the event, followed by Ben Lakoff, who tied for 12th with a three-round score of 215 (71-69-75).
Junior Kyle Cox, playing as an individual, carded a second-round career-low of 66, but posted a final-round 79 to tie for 21st overall. Austin Steele, also playing as an individual, tied for 15th.
"The tournament was very productive for our team, especially for the freshmen," says BSU head coach Mike Fleck. "I was pleased with the numbers that all seven players put up over the course of the three rounds."
In the team competition, Loyola came from behind in the final round to force a playoff and win against Oakland University. Both teams carded a 4-under par score of 848. The Cardinals followed in third with an 864.
