Eric Foss Championship Performance Center
GET DIRECTIONS
Namesake:
Eric Foss, a 1980 Ball State alumnus who committed a lead gift of $4 million toward the $7.8 million facility. Mr. Foss—a native Hoosier, former executive at Pepsi Bottling Group, and former chief executive officer of Aramark—earned his degree in marketing from the Miller College of Business. He joined the Ball State Foundation Board of Directors in 2021.
Year completed: Expected in Winter 2026
As of April 2025, the Eric Foss Championship Performance Center is officially under construction — and it’s a total game-changer for 350+ student-athletes across 18 varsity sports (not counting football which has its own strength & conditioning center). Designed by MSA Sport, a division of MSA Design, this 11,000 sq. ft. high-performance facility will raise the bar in the Mid-American Conference and beyond. MSA Sport is the architecture firm. Pridemark Construction is the construction partner.
Here’s why it matters:
- Cutting-edge training, strength & conditioning, and performance zones along with office space, recovery areas, and a nutrition bar
- Perfectly integrated with Ball State’s campus and adjacent to Worthen Arena
- Future-ready vision: Worthen’s current weight room is set for a future transformation into a top-tier sports medicine hub
- Designed for multi-team use
- Made possible by a gift from Ball State alum Eric Foss ’80
Opening in 2026, this center reflects Ball State’s commitment to championship performance and to provide student-athletes with the tools to thrive—on the field, in the classroom and for life.
