Ball State went 13-4 this season in two-possession games, posted a 5-3 mark in one-possession contests and was 2-1 in overtime games.
The Overland Park, Kansas native played professional basketball after completing her senior year for the Tigers. The San Antonio Stars selected her with the 28th pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft. Kulas also played professionally in Spain for Gran Canaries and Rivas and in Germany for Halle Lions.
Kulas has spent the last two seasons as the graduate student manager at her alma mater. As a member of the Missouri staff, Kulas played an integral part in opponent film and video breakdown. Her other duties included the oversight of the scout team, position breakdown and marketing for the Tiger Paws and Show Me Squad, along with numerous other duties.
Kulas graduated from Missouri in 2014 and was a first-team All-SEC selection by the league’s coaches and earned second-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press. She averaged 18.3 points per game as a senior, which ranked second in SEC.
As a junior at Missouri, Kulas was a second-team All-SEC honoree after registering 13.8 points per game, which ranked ninth among SEC players. She led the Tigers in scoring, rebounding, made field goals, made free throws and minutes played.
Prior to playing for the Tigers, Kulas began her collegiate playing career at Kansas State (2010-11), before transferring to Johnson County Community College (2011-12). As a player for the Cavaliers, Kulas was named an NJCAA Division II All-American after she led the team to a 32-3 ledger, an East Jayhawk Conference title and a perfect 18-0 mark in conference play.
Kulas earned a bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation and tourism with an emphasis in sports management from Missouri in 2014. She also pursued her master’s degree in educational, school and counseling psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching.
Quote from Ball State head women’s basketball coach Brady Sallee:
“Through the hiring process, Bri absolutely checked every box and proved to be the best fit as our newest assistant coach,” Sallee said. "She was an intense talent as a player at the highest levels in college, she played professionally and she started her young coaching career with programs that believe in a lot of the same things we do. I look forward to going to work with Bri and the rest of my staff as we continue to build this program and reach new heights.”
