Tounalom, Knouff Pace Women’s Golf on MAC Day 1

Cardinals tied for eighth place entering Saturday’s second round
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Ball State women's golfers Manon Tounalom and Emily Knouff are among the top 20 through one round at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
Tounalom opened with a 77 (+5) at Naperville Country Club and was in the top 10 until playing the final two holes in 3 over par. She is tied for 17th with two rounds to play. Knouff, tied for 20th, drained a long birdie putt at the 18th to post a 78.
Ball State also counted an 82 from Liz Kim, who chipped in at 18, and an 84 from Morgan Nadaline on the way to first-round score of 321 (+33).
Kent State, the nation's 16th-ranked team, leads the 10-team field at 282 (-6) and owns a 21-shot lead over second-place Toledo. The Golden Flashes occupy the top three spots on the individual leaderboard, paced by Pimnipa Panthong with a 67 (-5).
The second of the tournament's three rounds is set for Saturday. Ball State's tee times begin at 9:50 a.m. CT (10:50 ET). Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
