
Women's Tennis Dominates Illinois-Chicago

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team dominated Illinois-Chicago after posting a 7-0 win Friday night at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 5-2 overall while the Flames fell to 1-4 on the season.
In doubles action, the duo of Lilya Hadab and Peyton Gollhofer were the first off the court for Ball State after defeating UIC's Viktoria Seifert and Stefana Vasic by a score of 6-3 at the No. 3 position. Shortly after, the Cardinals No. 2 twosome of Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington then clinched the doubles point with their 6-4 victory versus Rachel Le Comber and Melika Leblanc.
Gollhofer, Berger, Herrington and Hadab all finished their singles matches in straight sets. Hadab gave the Cardinals the 2-0 edge over the Flames after conquering Seifert on court six, 6-3, 6-2. Berger would take down Lejla Colic at two singles 7-5, 6-2 to push Ball State to an 3-0 advantage. Herrington would then claim the fourth point for the victory at the No. 3 position. Herrington defeated Leblanc, 7-5, 6-4. Isabelle Dohanics along with teammate Victoria Sec both recorded wins in three sets at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action at home when it hosts Western Kentucky Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
