Going Streaking: Sophomore C/1B Caleb Stayton has reached base in nine consecutive appearances. He recorded season highs in hits (three) and RBIs (three) on March 4 against Northeastern.
Closing in on 200: INF Alex Maloney has played in 197 games at Ball State entering this weekend. Brad Miller (2003-06) holds the Ball State record for games played at 229
Holding down the Hoosiers: RHP John Baker had a terrific performance at Indiana on April 4. At one point, Baker retired 14 straight Hoosiers. His final stat line was 6.0+ innings pitched, four hits, two runs and six strikeouts.
Baker is 1-0 with a 1.12 ERA and 16 strikeouts in three road appearances this season.
