All-Access: Bennett at Her Best

Cardinal's center dominating the competition as a senior in 2016-17
Muncie, Ind. -- Renee Bennett arrived in Muncie from Wisconsin in 2013 as a six-foot-five attraction.  Let's be honest, there aren't a lot of women like her in college basketball to begin with, let alone the Mid-American Conference.  But as a senior this season, Bennett's morphed into a dominating presence. Â
Bennett towers as the tallest player in Ball State history, tied with current freshman Morgan Glatczak. Â She's the tallest player in the MAC to boot. Â For three seasons she was good, scoring more than 500 points and pulling down more than 400 rebounds. Â All that said, she'd racked up zero all-conference mentions. Â As a senior, however, Bennett has all but locked up a spot on the All-MAC roster. Â
After averaging 9.8 points and 5.7 rebounds last season, Bennett's now averaging 17.5 and 8.3 while racking up nine double-doubles and being one of the most gameplanned-for players in the league. Â She's scored 20 points nine times this year and in her last three consecutive outings. Â Basically Bennett has been almost unstoppable.
Ball State All-Access sat down with the center and her teammates to talk about her career progression and just how she's impacted the Cardinals this season.
Bennett and the Cardinals are next in action Wednesday night at 7pm from Kalamazoo, MI when they take on the Western Michigan Broncos. Â Coverage fo the game can be found on Muncie's Sports Station 102.9/1340 and on ESPN 3. Â Fans can also follow the Cardinals on social media @BallStateWBB.
