MUNCIE, Ind. – Another Thursday night road football game awaits Ball State as the Cardinals travel to Northern Illinois to take on the Huskies for the Bronze Stalk Trophy. CBS Sports Network is covering the game beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Three Things to Know:
1. Ball State will be looking for its first win in the series since 2008. Northern Illinois piled up 653 yards of offense against the Cardinals in last year's 31-24 victory. Junior QB Riley Neal, who is injured, threw for a career-best 393 yards at NIU in 2015.
2. The Bronze Stalk Trophy is on the line Thursday night. These two MAC rivals began competing for this trophy in 2008. Designed by nationally recognized sculptor and DeKalb artist Renee Bemis, the trophy depicts several cornstalks in tribute to the prevalence of maize around the respective home states of the rivals.
3. Redshirt freshman QB Drew Plitt made his first career start last week at Eastern Michigan. Plitt threw touchdown passes to freshman WR Khalil Newton and redshirt freshman TE Nolan Givan. Those were Ball State's first touchdown passes since Sept. 16.
By the Numbers:
1st – DE Anthony Winbush ranks first in the nation in sacks (10.5) and forced fumbles (5). He has recorded a sack in six of nine games.
4 – Ball State's tight ends have recorded four touchdown receptions this year led by redshirt freshman Nolan Givan with three touchdowns.
5 – Only five Cardinals have started all nine games this year, four of whom are on the defensive side of the ball.
