Swimming and Diving Welcome Grand Valley State to Lewellen

MUNCIE, Ind.– The Ball State swimming and diving teams will host another co-ed meet this weekend against Grand Valley State. The meet will be in Lewellen Aquatics Center Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.
Last weekend, both teams got big wins in the co-ed meet with Tiffin. The women's team defeated the Dragons, 176-46, with a meet highlighted by 13 first place finishes and multiple season bests. The men got the win in their season opener with a final score of 173-101. Newcomers came up big for the men's team, which was a promising start for their squad.

- Audrey Schank ranks atop the team in two events, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. Her time of 57.60 in the 100 backstroke places her 12th in the Mid-American Conference. Schank is also ranked in the 200 backstroke, sitting in the 15th spot with a time of 2:06.46.
- Andrea Richter leads the Cardinals in the 100 butterfly. Richter recorded a time of 57.42 at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet, which places her 14th in the conference. Richter is also ranked in the 100 backstroke. She is 16th in the MAC in that event with a time of 58.03.
- Amanda Kedzierski is the highest ranked Cardinal so far this season. In the home opener against Ohio (Oct. 28), Kedzierski posted a time of 1:04.96 in the 100 breaststroke. This time places Kedzierski 8th in the conference.
- Rachel Bertram marked a season best score and earned the 3rd place spot in the Ball State record books in 1-meter board against Illinois State (Nov. 10). Bertram's score of 288.90 is fourth in the MAC.
- Sophie Bader leads the Cardinals in three different events. In the 200 butterfly, Bader earned the top spot in the meet against Illinois State with a time of 2:07.79. Bader's time of 2:11.13 in the 200 IM was also posted against Illinois State. In the meet at Toledo, Bader earned a time of 4:38.94 in the 400 IM.
Below are notable times and scores going into this weekend's meet for Ball State men:
- Cullen Tyler leads the men's squad in three different events. Tyler earned a time of 2:11.88 in the 200 breaststroke, placing him 17th in the Mid-American Conference. Against Tiffin, Tyler earned the 19th place in the conference with a time of 1:00.70 in the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 butterfly, Tyler marked a time of 53.50 this past weekend to lead the team and place 21st in the conference.
- Ben Andrew posted a time of 21.92 in the 50 freestyle against Tiffin (Nov. 11), which leads the Ball State squad and places him 16th in the MAC. Andrew is also second on the team in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.50).
- Newcomer Drew Weeks is atop the Cardinal team in the 100 freestyle. Weeks' time of 48.10 in that event also put him at the 19th spot in the conference. Weeks is also second on the team and 23rd in the MAC in the 50 free (22.27).
- Logan Ackley leads the team in two events and also ranks in the MAC in those two events. In the 100 backstroke, Ackley recorded a time of 54.44 against Tiffin, placing him 22nd in the conference. Ackley ranks 18th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.70.
- Isaac Walling, Ryan Jackowiak, and Jack Luddy also rank in the top 24 of the conference in the 1000 freestyle. Walling leads the Ball State squad and sits at 17th in the MAC with a time of 10:15.37. Jackowiak posted a time of 10:32.31 against Tiffin to earn 18th place in the conference. Luddy is 19th in the MAC after posting a time of 10:33.62 last weekend.
- Sean Wolfe is 12th in the Mid-American conference in the 1-meter after earning a score of 240.38 last weekend. Wolfe is also 13th in the 3-meter board with a score of 241.20.
