An eight-time NCAA All-American in the long jump and triple jump, Nicole Toney enters her first season as the graduate assistant coach for the Ball State track & field program. She will serve as the jumps coach.
A 2004 graduate of Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Tony helped guide the Tigers to four national championships in track & field, while claiming the 2002 individual title in the triple jump. She was also a finalist in the triple jump at the 2004 Olympic Trials.
Since graduating, Toney has worked as an Intervention Specialist at Simpson Waverly Classical Magnet in Hartford, Conn. While maintaining a full-time job, Toney managed to serve as a part-time assistant track and field coach at Weaver High School (2005-08) as well as the University of Hartford (2006-08).
