High School: Four-year varsity letter winner at Valparaiso High School … served as captain of the throwing team all four years … earned Outdoor MVP honors as a junior and senior and Field MVP honors … posted personal records of 11.38 meters (37 feet, 4 inches) in the shot put, 40.85 meters (134 feet, 0 inches) in the discus, 39.87 meters (130 feet, 10 inches) in the hammer throw and 15.08 meters (49 feet, 5.75 inches) in the weight throw.
Personal: Daughter of Starr and Dan Rice … has one brother, Simeon … father played football and competed in track and field at Indiana University … hopes to work at a state or national park after college … enjoys grilled cheese with bacon and grilled tomato.
