BALL STATE CAREER NOTES ENTERING 2021 SEASON
• Graduated in the spring of 2020 with a degree in biology
• Granted an extra year of eligibility due to the 2020 COVID-19 global pandemic
• 2019 Academic All-MAC
• Played in 46 of a possible 81 games over her Ball State career, earning 30 starts, with 19 coming at second base, seven in right field and four in left field
• Has scored five game-winning runs and driven in two game-winning RBI over her Ball State career
• Transferred to Ball State after playing two seasons at Valparaiso (2017 & 2018)
2020 (Sr.): The season was shortened to 27 games due to the COVID-19 global pandemic ... granted an extra year of eligibility to compete in 2021 … earned second letter at Ball State … played in 25 games, earning 23 starts … made 12 starts as second base, seven in right field and four in left field … finished the season with a .289 batting average, smashing 22 hits in 76 at bats … credited with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored, while collecting six doubles and three home runs for a .487 batting average … also drew eight walks for a .357 on base percentage … collected multiple hits in seven games and multiple RBI in six outings … scored what proved to be the game-winning run in five games on the year, while driving in what proved to be the game-winning RBI in two contests … collected a pair of doubles in the win at Jacksonville (Feb. 14), adding an RBI and two runs scored … crossed the plate for her first two game-winning runs in back-to-back victories at North Florida (Feb. 15) and versus Alabama A&M (Feb. 16) … followed with her first game-winning RBI of the season in the 8-0 (5) win over Green Bay (Feb. 21) with an RBI groundout in the first inning, while also adding an RBI double later in the game … blasted her first home run in a Ball State uniform in the win at Western Kentucky (Feb. 22), with a two-run shot to right-center field … her second career Ball State home run came later in the day, when her two-run blast in the sixth inning versus Green Bay (Feb. 22) allowed her to score what proved to be the game-winning run … also scored game-winning runs versus Drexel (Feb. 29) and Samford (March 8) … strung together a season-long six-game hitting streak starting with a opener at Jacksonville (Feb. 14) and ending following a hit in the win over Green Bay (Feb. 21) ... the run was part of a career-long 14-game streak of reaching base safely which started versus Arkansas Pine Bluff (Feb. 9) and ended following the win over Drexel (Feb. 29) ... had a hand in turning three of the team's 14 double plays ... finished the shortened season with 31 putouts and 14 assists, while committing just three errors for a .938 fielding percentage.
2019 (Jr.): Earned first letter at Ball State … Academic All-Mid-American Conference … played in 21 games, earning seven starts at second base … finished the season with a .240 batting average, collecting six hits in 25 at bats … scored four runs and tallied a pair of RBI … also drew 10 walks and was hit by a pitch once for a .472 on base percentage … opened her Ball State career with a 1-for-2 effort in the season-opening win versus LIU Brooklyn (Feb. 8), tallying a single in the seventh inning … went 2-for-3 in the win versus Delaware (Feb. 16), scoring a pair of runs in the 9-0 (5) victory … recorded her first RBI for the Cardinals with a bases loaded groundout in the win over Quinnipiac (Feb. 17) … credited with a pinch hit RBI single and later scored in the win over Northern Colorado (Feb. 22) … drew a career-high three walks at San Jose State (Feb. 22) … smashed her first multiple base hit for the Cardinals with a double versus South Dakota (March 15) … closed the season with a single in the win over Oakland (May 4) … defensively, she finished the season with 11 putouts and nine assists, while committing just one error for a .952 fielding percentage.
VALPARAISO - 2018 (So.): Earned second letter at Valparaiso … played in 39 games, earning 22 starts … started 13 games as the designated player, six in left field and three in right field … posted a .191 batting average with 11 RBI and six runs scored … blasted three home runs, while adding a double … also drew four walks and was hit by a pitch five times for a .275 on-base percentage … was a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts … her first home run of the season was a two-run blast versus Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 17) ... also singled later in the game for her lone two-hit game of the season … drove in what proved to be the game-winning run with a two-run blast in the fifth inning of Valpo’s 4-0 win at UC Davis (March 10) … opened the scoring in the team’s 4-1 win at Missouri State (March 24) with a solo home run … drove in a pair of runs, one with an RBI single to open the scoring and one on a sacrifice fly later in the game, in Valpo’s 6-2 victory over Evansville (April 21) … put together a season-long four game hitting stream starting versus Utah State (March 9) and ending with a RBI single at UC Davis (March 11) … finished the season with seven putouts and one outfield assist.
VALPARAISO - 2017 (Fr.): Earned first letter at Valparaiso … named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team … started 48 games, making 27 starts in left field, 17 starts in center field and four starts in right field ... also made one pinch-hitting appearance ... hit .237 with 24 runs scored and 16 RBI ... posted a .343 on-base percentage and a .441 slugging percentage ... connected on six home runs to tie for second on the team ... drew 14 walks within Horizon League action, good for third on the league charts ... enjoyed a strong Valpo debut against North Carolina A&T (Feb. 18), reaching in all three of her plate appearances - including connecting on her first career home run, a two-run shot ... made a spectacular diving catch in her first action in center field at #9/11 Alabama (March 8) ... went 2-for-3 with a double against Eastern Illinois (March 12) ... reached base in nine consecutive games (March 18-Apr. 1) ... picked up base hits in seven of those nine games ... posted matching stat lines in in both halves of a doubleheader at Northern Kentucky (March 25), going 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in both contests ... also drew two walks in the nightcap ... reached base in five of 11 plate appearances in series sweep of Cleveland State (Apr. 14-15), picking up a pair of doubles while scoring two runs and tallying two RBI ... went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a Valpo-season best three stolen bases in opener at Detroit Mercy (Apr. 22) ... three steals tied for the season high by any Horizon League player in a single game ... connected on a home run in series opener with Oakland (Apr. 28) ... went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in win over Wright State (May 6) ... delivered crucial home run in opener of Horizon League Championship against Oakland (May 10), a shot which would stand up as the lone run in a 1-0 win ... connected on a two-run homer the next day versus Youngstown State (May 11) ... collected 61 putouts and three outfield assists on defense.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner is softball at York High School … a three-time All-Conference selection ... earned All-Area accolades each of her final two years after picking up Honorable Mention All-Area notice as a sophomore ... recorded a .387 career batting average with 23 home runs and 106 RBIs … hit .393 as a senior with eight home runs and 32 RBI … hit .366 as a junior with seven home runs, 31 RBIs and 34 runs scored … helped team to fourth-place finish at state tournament as a freshman ... played travel softball for the Wasco Diamonds ... helped squad to top-ten finishes at PGF Regionals (2014, 2nd place; 2015, 2nd place), Denver Fireworks (2014, 4th place; 2016, 9th place) and Chicagoland Metros (2014, 2nd place) ... also played volleyball ... member of National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Josh and Melissa Baer … born June 6, 1998 in Chicago, Illinois … has three brothers, Max, Mason and Alex … graduated in the spring of 2020 with a degree in biology.
WHY BALL STATE: I chose Ball State because as soon as I stepped on campus, I felt like I was a part of a giant family.
